Platt-Forms UK has provided a laser cutting service for 3 years. With short lead times, zero tooling costs and optimum material utilisation, laser cutting provides a fast, flexible and economical means of sheet metal cutting and plate profiling. Laser profiling offers supreme flexibility, handling profiles from the simplest of components to shapes of almost limitless complexity – it is suitable for both pre-production samples and production batches.

We can laser cut steel plates up to 4m long x 2m wide and cut mild steel to 25 mm thick, stainless steel to 20mm thick and aluminium up to 12mm thick as well as make laser cuts and insertions as small as 0.1mm.

Sophisticated CAD/CAM computer software allows complex profiles to be laser cut from a variety of customer inputs; a hand drawn sketch, detailed engineering drawing, scanned images or DXF files. Retention of customer drawing files facilitates cost-effective design modifications and replication. Our CAD/CAM software allows automatic nesting of parts, and twin pallet loading minimises set-up time, resulting in short lead times and low costs to our customers.
